What is the "Melt Alarm"?
It is a device, that detects material leaks. Simply put: its a "feeling touch", every plastic
processing machine needs.
Why purchase "Melt Alarm"?
How often have you had to clean molten plastic from your thermo couples, heater bands,etc because
the nozzle was leaking, or as a result, needed to replace those? With the Melt Alarm, you will have early warning of
leaking material. The Melt Alarm is therefore an important preventative device, that will inform you about leaking nozzles
in time.
What does the device consist of?
The device consists of a control box with main switch, indicator, reset, buzzer and controller. It has a
bendable element and Magnetic stand.
How to Operate the Melt Alarm:
Place unit on machine frame, close to nozzle, connect unit to 220V socket.
Fix magnet stand on fixed platen, bend and adjust tip of thermo element, appoximately 1 cm away
from sprue bush (nozzle) switch mains on. the device will sense a temperature of 80 - 100 degrees C. Adjust the controller
10 degrees higher. As soon as material leak occurs, the sensor will register the rise in temperature and will set the alarm
in operation.
This will help you in checking for the reasons why the material leaks, and sort the
problem out, before unneccessary damage occurs.
